All the info is written so that it is also possible for anyone to visit the city alone. This will help the people that arrive some days earlier, leave some days later or simply want to take the tour alone.
After the conference, on Sunday we will take a tour in Milan. If someone can’t go in Rome there are possibilities to visit Milan the day before the DevCon.

Milan tour
Once in Milano you should reach “Milano Cadorna” railway station. Coming from Linate arrive in “San Babila” with the bus number 73 and use the underground to reach Cadorna. Coming from Malpensa the train is a good choice as Cadorna is where you arrive. Coming from Orio, after the bus, walk or take a taxi to the railway station, then take the train for Milano, once there use the underground to reach Cadorna. Coming from Treviglio with the train for Milano, use the underground to reach Cadorna.
A few metres from Cadorna we will visit the Sforzesco castle and have a walk through the nearby Sempione park to see the Arco della Pace. Back to the castle going through the park again we will face the Foro Buonaparte and, walking down via Dante arrive to the Duomo di Milano. With a few euros we can visit the top of this famous Cathedral and see the city from the high. The Duomo is near a gallery, called Vittorio Emanuele Arcade, that connects it to the La Scala Theatre through a little public square where the Leonardo da Vinci statue is. To make ladies happy we can move in San Babila direction to take the fashion shopping walk that can end in via Montenapoleone. From there we can arrive to the planetarium little park and take the underground. All of these places are not far one from the other and visiting them will take a lot of time, walking. At this point someone may have to reach the airport. This is not for sure but the ones that stay and sleep in Treviglio can come to Bergamo and see Bergamo Alta by night.
There are some other places worth to visit but are usually crowded or a reservation for the ticket is needed:
- The Ambrosiana Library in a street nearby the opposite side of the Duomo Cathedral square from the La Scala theatre
- The Santa Maria delle Grazie church that hosts the Cenacolo better known as Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci This should be visited at the beginning of the tour, reservation is required.
- The Brera Picture Gallery.
A touristic map is provided to evaluate the tour. here is a better and bigger (1Mb) touristic map.
NOTE: All the links are used for photos and descriptions, we are not going to pay for the tour, but for the monuments’ tickets.
Back to Treviglio
We will reach Milano Centrale railway station that’s also the station where you can find the trains from Milan to Treviglio and arrive with the trains from Treviglio to Milan. The ticket is around 5 euros (single). The trains for Treviglio are the ones that usually go to Venice (Venezia), Verona, Brescia and Cremona.
If you are taking the train and not the tour watch out for the train you catch as:
- Cremona trains can pass either from Treviglio or from Lodi and the latter is wrong;
- Some Venice, Verona and Brescia trains, mainly the ones called “Intercity”, pass from Treviglio without stopping so please ask.
