Before the conference in Treviglio, Milan, we plan a visit to the eternal city, Rome. Guests and speakers that intend to visit the city will arrive in Rome at the Fiumicino airport and take the train to the Termini station, or directly arrive by train at the Termini station. Just near the station (see also image of the station from satellite), they will find Hotel Virginia; it’s at walking distance, but it is also possible to easily reach it by bus if desired, as described in their site.
It is possible to get a reservation for Hotel Virgina using the registration script found here. Thanks to our arrangement with the hotel, guests and speakers that register for the conference get the special price of €90 per day for a double room, and €110 per day for a triple room. You must register before July 31st to also get a room reservation.
We will meet at Hotel Virginia on wednesday September 28th, 9:00 am. We’ll take a tour with the special bus line 110Open, which for a ticket of €13, valid for a whole day, will allow us to visit the most important places of the city. We’ll spend another night at Hotel Virginia, then check out on thursday September 29th. We’ll take the chance for another walk in the city, and a lunch in a nearby restaurant. Then we’ll get to the Termini Station and take the train to Milan departing at 2:30 pm. The train arrives in Milan at 7 pm, and the ticket is about €47.
